On January 19, 2010, the state of Massachusetts held a Special Election to see who would be taking over the senate seat left vacant by the late Ted Kennedy. According to the Wall Street Journal, few exit polls were expected prior to the results of the January 2010 special election as generally in cases where a blowout win is expected, exit polls are not released.
