Mass Effect System Requirements

  • This page contains information about the system requirements for the PC version of the video game, Mass Effect. These system requirements were revealed on the official Mass Effect forum by a community manager for BioWare named Jay Watamaniuk, on April 16, 2008. Mass Effect is a sci-fi RPG originally released for Xbox 360 on November 20, 2007. The converted PC version of the game is scheduled for release on May 28, 2008 with new content and improved graphics. The PC version of the game also includes some controversial security measures that may detract from the game's popularity in an attempt to prevent piracy/unauthorized play. The SecuROM online activation system allows the user to attempt activation of the game three times before being required to contact a customer service rep to have it reactivated. The system originally dialed in every five to ten days to double check that your current CD Key and computer info matched the data submitted when you first activated the game. After extreme backlash from PC fans of the game, BioWare has replaced the strict authentication schedule with an initial validation when the game is first run, and when additional content is downloaded.
