Maryland

The state of Maryland has a little bit of everything. It has beaches, mountains, and farm land. The state was originally part of the Chesapeake Bay Colony and joined the union in 1788.

While the capital of Maryland is Annapolis, the largest city is Baltimore. Baltimore has been the home to many films and television shows including the 2007 theatrical film Hairspray.

Maryland blue crab is a local delicacy and is harvested in the nearby Chesapeake Bay. They are prepared by steaming the crab and topping them with vinegar and spices.
