Mary Poppins is a 1964 Disney musical film based on the P.L. Traversbook series of the same name. The film's songs were composed by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman.
The film centers around the arrival of magical nanny Mary Poppins' arrival into the Banks household where she teaches the head of the household, Mr. Banks, to nurture and care for his young children Jane and Michael. Mary Poppins was memorably portrayed by stage musical star Julie Andrews in her first film role. Her performance earned her both the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Actress.
