Early Life and Career
Pawlenty was born Mary Anderson in Minnesota. She met her future husband in the mid-1980s while attending law school at the University of Minnesota.Initiatives
As First Lady of Minnesota, Pawlenty created the Military Family Care Initiative and the Hearth Health Initiative. The Military initiative is intended to streamline the process of allowing community groups to aid military families.
