Mary II of England was the oldest daughter of James II of England and Lady Anne Hyde. She was a Protestant queen who co-ruled with her spouse William III of England.
During Mary's reign, the British Parliament passed the Bill of Rights, a constitutional document which established restrictions on royal prerogative. Royals could no longer suspect laws passed by the Parliament, levy taxes or infringe on the right of petition.
