Marvin Hamlisch

Marvin Frederick Hamlisch is an American composer who composed the award-winning musical score for the 1973 movie The Sting. He composed music for many movies and musicals and has a long history as conductor for many reputable orchestras, including the National Symphony Orchestra and currently Colorado Symphony Orchestra.

Hamlisch has won a Q award, four Emmy Awards, three Academy Awards, a Tony Award and a Pulitzer Prize. He has worked with Barbara Streisand many times, from his first job as the rehearsal pianist for Funny Girl, to writing the score for The Way We Were, as well as penning several hit singles for Streisand in the 90s.http://www.marvinhamlisch.com/
