Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is an action role-playing title developed by Raven Software, Vicarious Visions, Beenox Studios, and Barking Lizards Technologies. The game has been published by Activision for multiple platforms including the PC, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii, Nintendo DS, GBA and PSP. Over twenty Marvel Comic characters can be selected on each platform with several more making exclusive appearances on various consoles; Black Widow, for example, is only playable on the PSP while Jean Grey is exclusive to the Game Boy Advance version.

Story
In his latest attempt to conquer the world, Dr. Doom has forged an alliance with several Marvel super villains. Dubbing themselves The Masters of Evil, they invade cities and realms, blazing a trail of destruction along the way. In response to the increasingly frequent attacks, S.H.I.E.L.D. begins to recruit others heroes to help turn the tide.Gameplay
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is a dungeon crawling, beat-em-up with a light RPG element. When players engage in combat or level their characters, they will net points, which are then used to increase stats or upgrade various abilities. Helpful items and equipment can also be found throughout the game by defeating bosses.Characters
Marvel Ultimate Alliance boasts a total of 140 characters from the Marvel Universe. Along with the heroes, the player must sometimes fight an evil version of themselves and other heroes.
