American actor Martin Sheen has played the role of President Bartlett on The West Wing and starred in the films Apocalypse Now and The Departed. He is also the father Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez, who directed Bobby.
Sheen can be seen in On the Line, an Academy Award nominated documentary that examines the nonviolent movement to close the School of the Americas, a U.S. Army school that trains Latin American soldiers.

Sheen has spent his life campaigning for and supporting political causes. He was an ardent supporter of Cesar Chavez, and currently supports the activist groups Consistent Life Ethic, and PETA. -
