Martian Child

Martian Child stars John Cusack as a science fiction writer who adopts a troubled young boy, played by Bobby Coleman, who believes he's from Mars. Cusack, as widower David, is hooked up with Dennis, a boy who goes around in a box. David believes he is from Mars and must stay out of the sun, hence the box. David convinces Dennis to come out of the box by offering him sunglasses and sunscreen to protect him from the sun.
