  • Martha Stewart is a business magnate, author, television personality and homemaker advocate. In 1997, Stewart founded Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. Her other projects include The Martha Stewart Show, her Martha Stewart Everyday line, available for purchase at K-Mart, her paint line, available for purchase at Sears and Martha Stewart Vintage, a wine available for purchase as of 2007 in six different states. She also appears on The Today Show on a regular basis.

    In January of 2004, Stewart's highly-publicized trial began. According to reports filed in late 2001, Stewart sold all 3,928 shares of her ImClone stock. She avoided a loss of $45,673 when the next day her stock value dropped 16 percent. The trial lasted for five-weeks. She was found guilty of conspiracy, obstruction of an agency proceeding and making false statements to federal investigators.
