Marshall Faulk is a former football player in the NFL. In 1994 he was drafted second overall by the Indianapolis Colts where he played until the end of the 1998 season. when he was traded to the St. Louis Rams
Faulk helped create the Rams' Greatest Show on Turf years, when they won Super Bowl XXXIV and returned to the Super Bowl for Super Bowl XXXVI, when the Rams lost to the New England Patriots.
He attended San Diego State University, playing three years for the Aztecs. Faulk finished with 4,569 rushing career yards, a 6.0-yard average per carry and 57 career rushing touchdowns. Marshall Faulk had a brilliant 12-year career in the NFL. He had 2,836 carries for 12,279 yards and 100 rushing touchdowns. He was also one of the most potent receivers out of the backfield during his career. He played his last seven years with the St. Louis Rams, rushing for more than 1,300 yards in each of his first three seasons - 1999-2001. He was the Associated Press NFL Player of the Year in 2000 and the Professional Football Writers of America Player of Year in 2000 and 2001. Faulk spent his first five seasons with the Indianapolis Colts (1994-98), amassing four 1,000-yard rushing seasons. His greatest performance, however, came during his initiation to college football - or rather college football's initiation to him. During his second career game as a redshirt freshman at San Diego State in 1991. Faulk was the backup to T.C. Wright, who was injured in the first quarter against the University of Pacific. All Faulk did was rush for 386 yards - then an NCAA rushing record - and score seven touchdowns in the Aztecs' 55-34 victory.
