Mark Buehrle

  • Mark Buehrle is a left-handed pitcher for the Chicago White Sox. After graduating from Francis Howell North High School in Missouri, Buehrle went on to play baseball at Jefferson College. Following his collegiate career, the White Sox selected Buehrle in the 38th round of the 1998 amateur draft. After a couple of years as a minor league pitching prospect in the White Sox minor league farm system, Buehrle made his major league debut on July 16, 2000. In his first eight seasons in Chicago, Buehrle made the All-Star team twice, and finished 5th in Cy Young Award voting in 2005.
  • Strengths

    Buehrle has a tremendous pitching repertoire, that includes a fastball, curve, change-up, and two sliders. He tends to pitch better the longer he stays in a game.[1]
  • Weaknesses

    Buehrle doesn't blow hitters away. He can get hit hard when he struggles his his command.[1]
