  • Roman general Mark Antony was a friend and ally of Julius Caesar, and also the husband of Egyptian pharaoh Cleopatra VII.

    Antony and Cleopatra committed suicide within days of each other in 30 BC, and are believed to have been buried together near Alexandria.
