    Mariusz Pudzianowski first entered the sport of strength competitions at the age of 16. He competed in his first national bench press competition and managed to bench 353lbs (160kg). Two years later, Mariusz completed a 452lb (295kg) lift. From there he dominated Polish Championships (his lowest ranking being a single second place finish), and in 2002 moved on to win the World's Strongest Man (WSM) competition. He came back and won this competition another four times after this victory, winning in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2008. He has won another 37 competitions besides the WSM, and was the runner up (second place finisher) in another 7 competitions (including his 2006 second place WSM finish).
