Mariqueen Maandig is a Los Angeles-based musician who has performed both as a solo artist and as a singer for the psychedelic rock band West Indian Girl. In 2009, Maandig left West Indian Girl after only five years with the Indie band. That same year, she joined How to Destroy Angels.
How to Destroy Angels is a recent venture including Maandig and husband Trent Reznor whom she married on Saturday, October 17, 2009 in a private ceremony at their LA home. http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00028104.html
During Maandig's years as lead singer for West Indian Girl, she provided the lead vocals and sex appeal for the band. Other former band members include Chris Carter, Nathan Van Hala, and Mark Lewis. Although the band toured as recently as April 2010, they did so without their original singer.
In true 21st century form, West Indian Girl posted their need for a new singer on Twitter shortly after announcing that Maandig had left the band. http://www.twentyfourbit.com/post/155445786/trent-reznor-fiancee-mariqueen-maandig-splits-with-band
In spite of Trent Reznor's involvement with appearing in an anti-fur campaign, Mrs. Trent Reznor's MySpace page boldly proclaims,"I like Chinchilla on my coats and a little bit of blood in my steak." http://www.myspace.com/mariqueen
How to Destroy Angels
Trent Reznor is the 45-year-old musician behind industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails. His collaboration with Maandig, named How to Destroy Angels after a song by Coil, is reminiscent of NIN, but with a woman's touch. Purists have criticized the new sound, but Reznor and Maandig appear undeterred. Atticus Rose, an English musician/composer, is the third member of the group.
The first album by How to Destroy Angels was released online on June 1, 2010. "How to Destroy Angels" is their self-titled debut CD. It is available to download for free at the band's website. On July 6, 2010, the CD will also be available in stores as well. Maandig and the rest of the band are working on a full-length version of the album, but it won't hit stores until sometime in 2011.

Another beauty secret that Maandig disclosed to Playboy magazine was a little more revealing. In the interview that accompanied Maandig's photo spread in the magazine, she disclosed that she never wears underwear. Taking a laissez-faire approach to the possibility of a wardrobe malfunction, she told the magazine, "If it happens, it happens. It probably has." http://www.playboy.com/articles/babes-mariqueen-maandig/ She also told Playboy " . . . I’m not ashamed of my body, and I certainly won’t dress to hide it. My whole family is built this way, with tiny waists. We were corseted by God.” http://www.playboy.com/articles/babes-mariqueen-maandig/
