Guide Note:
Mario Kart 64 is a racing game for the N64 and the Virtual Console developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo. It is the second Super Mario Kart game in the series, the follow-up to Super Mario Kart. It is the first game in the Mario Kart series to feature three-dimensional looks as well as a four-player mode. The game was recently made available through Nintendo's Wii Shop channel for 1,000 points ($10). -
Gameplay:
Much like Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64 is a straight-forward racing game, where players raced on one of 16 different tracks while dodging the on-track hazards and the items that the opposition gathered throughout the race. The drifting system was increased, and power sliding added to the game. There are four different modes in the game: Grand Prix, Time Trial, Versus and Battle. In Versus and Battle modes, as many as four players could take part, a change from Super Mario Kart, where only two players could play against each other. -
