Basketball Career
Chalmers played basketball in high school, leading Bartlett High School to state championships in 2002 and 2003. He averaged 25.3 points per game and was named All-American. In 2005, Chalmers enrolled at the University of Kansas. He set school records each year and was instrumental in the Kansas Jayhawks' 2008 NCAA Championship. Chalmers scored a three-point shot with two seconds left in the game to force overtime. Kansas defeated the Memphis Tigers 75-68.Kansas Jayhawks: Mario ChalmersChalmers was selected 34th overall in the 2008 NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Later in 2008, he was traded to the Miami Heat.
