Marinara Sauce

Marinara Sauce is a type of tomato sauce made from a variety of ingredients including tomatoes, olive oil and other ingredients. The sauce originated in the Naples, Italy area. Sometimes the sauce is spicier than typical tomato sauces. The name is derived from the word "marinaro" which means sailor in Italian. Marinara sauce can be used with any variety of pasta. It is also commonly used in conjunction with seafood such as shrimp and eggplant. Marinara sauce is also commonly served as a dip with mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini, calzones and many other types of food.
