Cuban actress and singer Maria Conchita Alonso began her career in 1979 as a singer in the band Ámbar. She went on to a solo singing career with the hit song "Dangerous Rhythm." She received a Grammy Award nomination for "Best Latin Artist", for her album "Maria Conchita", in 1984. That same year, she began her film career with a role in Moscow on the Hudson, which starred Robin Williams. She has had roles on various television shows including Saints & Sinners, Desperate Housewives and the reality television show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. Her current project is the reality show Viva Hollywood as co-host with actor/singer Carlos Ponce.
