  • Career Highlights

    Svatos began his career in the Western Hockey League, playing for the Kootenay Ice. He was drafted 227th overall in the 2001 NHL Draft by the Colorado Avalanche. In 2002, Svatos joined the Avalanche American Hockey League affiliate, the Hershey Bears. He made his NHL debut the following season, playing four regular season and 11 playoff games that year. He returned to the Hershey Bears in 2004 as the NHL season was canceled due to the lockout. Svatos then came back to the Avalanche in 2005 as a full member of the roster. In 2006, he represented Slovakia in the Winter Olympics, where the team finished fifth. Most recently, Svatos missed the last few months of the 2007-08 regular season after tearing his ACL in March.
