  • Career Highlights

    Sturm began his career in 1995 playing for the EV Landshut in the Deutsche Eishockey-Liga, or German Elite League. He was then drafted 21st overall in the 1996 NHL draft by the San Jose Sharks. After one more season in Germany, Sturm joined the Sharks in 1997 for his NHL debut. He continued with the Sharks over the next eight seasons, returning to the Deutsche Eishockey-Liga briefly during the 2004-05 NHL lockout. Shortly after the lockout, Sturm was traded to the Boston Bruins. He has signed a contract extension with the Bruins on February 24, 2007, keeping him in Boston for four additional years.
