Professional race car driver Marco Andretti currently races for the Andretti Green Racing team in the Indy Racing League.
On May 24, 2009, during the first lap of Indy 500 Andretti was involved in a crash with Mario Moraes. Andretti's crew is currently trying to repair his car and get him back in the race.
Born to Drive
Andretti is a third generation Indy Car racer, following in the footsteps of his father, Michael and grandfather Mario, who were both highly successful drivers. He began kart racing as a child, preparing him for the major races.
Life in the IRL
Andretti joined the Indy Racing League in 2006 with his father's team Andretti Green Racing. He was the youngest driver in the history of the league.
Andretti finished second in the 2006 Indianapolis 500, just .0635 seconds behind Sam Hornish Jr..
