  • NHL Career

    Hossa was drafted 16th overall in the 2000 NHL draft by the Montreal Canadiens. He played one season with his junior team, the Portland Winter Hawks of the Western Hockey League, before joining the Canadiens American Hockey League affiliate, the Quebec Citadelles in 2001. Hossa joined the Canadiens for his NHL debut in 2001 also, and played 10 games in the NHL that year. He continued with the Canadiens until the 2004-05 NHL lockout, when he played in Sweden for the Mora IK in the Elitserien. Following the lockout, Hossa was traded to the New York Rangers on September 30, 2005. After nearly three seasons with the Rangers, Hossa was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes on February 26, 2008.
