Marcel Goc is a professional hockey player from Germany. He currently plays center for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League.
Career Highlights
Goc began his career playing junior hockey in Germany, starting in 1998. He was drafted in 2001 by the San Jose Sharks, 20th overall in the NHL Draft. Goc did not come to the United States until 2003, when he joined the Cleveland Barons in the American Hockey League. He made his NHL debut with the Sharks during the 2004 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Goc assisted on a series clinching goal in his first ever NHL game. He continued on to score on his first shot, another series clinching goal to close out the Western Conference Semifinals. In 2006, Goc represented Germany in the Winter Olympics, where they placed 10th of 12 teams. Following the 2005-06 regular season, Goc re-signed with the Sharks to a two year contract.
