Canadian professional hockey player Marc Denis plays for the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League.
NHL Career
Denis was drafted 25th overall in the 1995 NHL draft by the Colorado Avalanche. He continued to play for his junior team, the Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, for two seasons before making his NHL debut with the Avalanche in 1996. Denis split the next two seasons between the Avalanche and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Hershey Bears. On June 7, 2000, Denis was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets. After five seasons with the Blue Jackets, Denis was sent to the Tampa Bay Lightning on June 30, 2006. The Lightning sent Denis to their AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals in March of 2008, then bought out his contract in June of the same year. He signed as a free agent with the Montreal Canadiens on July 3, 2008.
