Football Career
Prior to playing in the NFL, Colombo played college football with the Boston College Eagles. He played in 33 games over his collegiate career and earned All-Big East honors following his senior year. Colombo made his professional debut with the Bears in 2002, playing in 10 games, five of which he started. He was sidelined in November of 2002 after dislocating his kneecap, which caused nerve damage and forced him to sit out for the entire 2003 season. Colombo returned to the Bears in 2004, but was injured again, playing just nine games over two seasons. In 2005, he was waived by the Bears and signed with the Dallas Cowboys.
