Marc Chouinard

  • Canadian professional hockey player Marc Chouinard plays for the Fribourg-Gotteron of the Nationalliga A in Switzerland. He previously played in the National Hockey League from 2000 to 2007.
  • NHL Career

    Chouinard was drafted 32nd overall in the 1995 NHL draft by the Winnipeg Jets. He continued to play in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and was traded to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on February 7, 1996. In 1997, Chouinard joined the Ducks' American Hockey League affiliate, the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. He made his NHL debut with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 2000 and played three seasons with the team before he signed as a free agent with the Minnesota Wild on July 28, 2003. Chouinard played in Norway, for the Frisk-Asker IF, during the 2004-05 NHL lockout. He played one additional season with the Wild after the lockout, then signed with the Vancouver Canucks on July 20, 2006. The Canucks released Chouinard after one season and he left the NHL to play with the Fribourg-Gotteron in Switzerland.
