Manu Chao is a World Music artist and performer whose eclectic mix of styles, genres and even languages have gained him a loyal and devoted following around the world.
Career
Manu Chao began his career in music as a teen in Spain, playing with a punk band called Los Hot Pants. They gained local popularity and attention, but never released an album. He went on to form Mano Negra in 1987 with his brother and cousin. By 1995 the band members went their separate ways due to internal legal issues, but not before recording several top ten songs in Europe. Chao continued his carreer as a solo artist, releasing his first album Clandestino in 1998.
