In the short film, Manon on the Asphalt, a young woman named Manon has an accident on her bicycle while riding home. On the threshold of death, she has an out-of-body experience that grants her a new perspective on life.
Manon on the Asphalt was nominated for an Oscar in 2009 in the Best Short Film category, but the Award went to director Jochen Alexander Freydank's Toyland.
