  • Career Highlights

    Fernandez began his career in Canada, playing for the Laval Titan in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He was drafted 52nd overall in the 1992 NHL Draft by the Quebec Nordiques. On February 13, 1994, Fernandez was traded to the Dallas Stars, where he made his NHL debut the same year. After splitting the next five seasons between the Stars and their minor league affiliates, Fernandez was traded to the Minnesota Wild on June 12, 2000. Fernandez played in Sweden during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout for the Lulea HF. On July 1, 2007, Fernandez was traded by the Wild to the Boston Bruins. Most recently, he missed the majority of the 2007-08 season after undergoing knee surgery.
