Manila Restaurants

Filipino foods are enjoyable and generally tolerable by most visiting tourists. Filipino food is not highly spicy like other Asian countries and has a definite Pinoy style to it. Whether you are looking for an authentic Filipino restaurant cooking homsetyle food, or a fast food style restaurant, plenty will be found in Manila. In addition to traditional Filipino food, an abundance of American, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and Korea food restaurants are available for sampling. Most hotels have multiple cultural offerings for food.

Coffee shops are plentiful with a number of Starbucks and Gloria Jeans offering lattes, expressos and other caffienated drinks. Coffee shops are found in shopping areas, inside supermarkets, and in most hotel lobbies. Additionally most transiet stations like bus or rail have some type of coffee or drink shop location.

Filipino food offered in restaurants often includes lumpa, adobo chicken or pork, tocino, langunisa, and other meat dishes. Lechon is a popular pork meal and is often available by the kilo after being cooked fresh at the resaurant. Restaurants outside of the city may not have sit down space but will package meals for carry out. Most will be accompanied by rice or a noodle. Other meals offered may include Chicken Afritata, Sinagang, Menudo, Lumpia, and Bicol Express.

Fast food restaurants are found in many locations, particularly in the areas closest to bus stations and rail stations. American fast food chains McDonalds, Dunkin DOnuts, Krispy Kreme, Subway, Burger King, and Taco Bell can be found throughout Manial. In addition to thoese Kentucky Fried chicken and Pizza Hut are available.

If you are not in the mood for American style, many Filipino fast food restaurants delivery. Local phone books over the delivery phone numbers for Jollibees, Yellow Can Pizza, Chicken Inasal and others.

For certain, if you are a hungry tourist in Manila you can easily find a place to fill your needs.
