  • Malcolm McDowell is an English actor who has starred in A Clockwork Orange, Time After Time and Caligula. He recently starred in the remake of the film Halloween and Doomsday.
  • Early Career

    Born in Leeds, Yorkshire, in the middle of the Second World War, McDowell worked in a pub owned by his parents during his youth, and began acting in the theatre before landing his first film role in the 1968 film If.... Director Stanley Kubrick saw McDowell's performance in If... and decided to cast him as the infamous sociopath Alex de Large in the 1971 adaptation of the Anthony Burgess novel A Clockwork Orange. McDowell has often been typecast as a villain, primarily as a result of his early successes in A Clockwork Orange and as the depraved title character in Caligula.
  • Recent Work

    McDowell's easily recognizable English accent is highly sought after for voiceover work, and he has voiced characters in South Park and in The Animated Series. In the film Star Trek Generations, McDowell played the scientist Dr. Tolian Soran who kills Captain Kirk.
