Maker Night

The Los Angeles chapter of SIGGRAPH (a production of the Association for Computing Machinery) held Maker Night in June of 2008. The event, which was free to SIGGRAPH members and $20 for the general public, included presentations by Mark Frauenfelder and Jeff Boynton, as well as opportunities for attendees to display their collaborative projects.

About Mark Frauenfelder

Author and illustrator Mark Frauenfelder, formerly an editor for Wired magazine and a columnist for Playboy, founded the award-winning blog Boing Boing. He is currently the editor-in-chief of MAKE magazine.

About Jeff Boynton

Since playing in the '80s new wave group Wazmo Nariz, Jeff Boynton has hand-created numerous "Circuit Bending" musical instruments from discarded consumer electronic components. He hooks each instrument to its own small amplifier, each of which is placed around the room for a surround sound-like audio experience.
