CEO Jason Calacanis
Jason Calacanis is a native of Brooklyn, New York and a graduate of Xaverian High School and Fordham University. His early career involved the founding and running of the Silicon Alley Reporter, a New York-based publication that covered issues related to the internet and new media.
Calacanis then co-founded Weblogs, Inc., a company comprised of numerous blogs including Engadget. Currently, serves as the CEO of Mahalo, This Week In and Launch.

President Jason Rapp
Jason Rapp (a Duke and Columbia alum) is Mahalo's president and member of the board of directors. Before joining the Mahalo team in 2010, he worked at the New York Times corporation and founded Rappco Digital Media.
He was also the Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions for InterActive Corp, and then the CEO of IAC's business holding Gifts.com.
Casting/Partnerships
Our casting department brings in the best possible teachers and hosts for each app we produce—from professional chefs to personal trainers and award-winning authors. In the past, Mahalo has partnered with brands like Meredith publishing, Omaha Steaks, Alive.com and Fandango.
Developers
Developers are constantly working on new designs and features to improve the user experience and interaction. Currently, they're working to expand to the Android platform.
Producer/Editors
Video editors work with expert hosts to produce, shoot and edit each video lessons for the apps they're working on.
Writers/Directors
Writers research and develop supplemental text culled from a wide variety of databases and research. They're also responsible for coaching hosts and talent development.
Working Together
Each writer-video editor team then works together to package the videos into a logical, easy-to-follow curriculum.
