The competition to find a co-host for Mahalo Daily after the departure of Veronica Belmont was referred to as Mahalo VLOGIdol. Leah D'Emilio won the job over Andrea Rene in the final round, though Rene is continuing on the show as a part-time correspondent.
Mahalo VLOGIdol is not affiliated with American Idol, The Bachelor, or any other TV Reality Show.

Saturday, April 19th 2008
- 12:00PM - 2:00PM
- Entrants received a number ticket when they arrived at Mahalo HQ, and proceed to fill out a questionnaire and release form. Each entrant was placed in front of a panel of producers from Mahalo Daily, who asked entrants a series of quick questions. 40 entrants were then asked to stay and face the celebrity casting panel (Jason Calacanis, Alex Albrecht, and Loren Feldman).
- 2:00PM - 4:00PM
- The 40 semi-finalists then took part in a 2 minute interview in front of our celebrity judges, and an internet audience which watched through a live streaming camera.
- 4:00PM - 5:00PM
- The celebrity judges conferred with the producers of the show, and consider feedback from the internet audience. Out of the 40, 13 semi-finalists were asked to come back on Sunday.

- During this week, the five finalists will each be given time to work with the Mahalo Daily team with the aim of producing their own, full Mahalo Daily episode.
