Junior Designer
We're expanding -- we've just opened up a new Junior Designer position! Join us and learn more in a week than most places will teach you in a yearMahalo.com is a human-powered search service. It is one of the hottest startups on the planet right now. We're well-funded by the same people that backed Google, Yahoo and YouTube. Our growth curve has been incredible: after only two years, we're in the top 200 sites. The remainder of 2009 and 2010 will be downright amazing.
We're looking for a Junior Designer who is excited and eager to learn. We look for raw talent and make superstars. And we're a Silicon Valley-style company that happens to be in LA: this kind of opportunity is VERY rare. The rewards are potentially life-changing.
Skills: • Software proficiency: Adobe CS3 (or 4) - Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign • Expert knowledge of Flash • Knowledge of UI/UX design • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML • Excellent understanding of composition, page layout and typography • Comfortable working in fast-paced environment • Ability to follow directions and established styles • Must be able to take constructive design feedback • Must be able to multitask and prioritize • Highly organized, accurate and detail oriented • Great communication skills • Copy-editing skills a big plus
Responsibilities: • Participate in creative brainstorming • Maintain high standards of established creative strategy • Develop interactive/multimedia Flash components • Participate in developing mock-ups and presentations • Translate rough wire-frames into polished layouts • Assist Art Director with various creative tasks
