What does Alpha mean?
In software talk, Alpha is the first test version of the software
It takes time to build search results for a human-powered search engine like Mahalo
Because of this, Mahalo will remain in Alpha until we hit 10,000 pages
We welcome your input and requests while we're working to build a better search engine
What comes after Alpha?
After we hit 10,000 pages, Mahalo will move into Beta
Beta is typically the second major test version of new software
We will remain in Beta until we hit 25,000 human-built search results
When do you plan to officially launch?
Once we hit 25,000 human-built search results, we think Mahalo will be a full-grown search engine and we will officially launch
We expect this to happen by the end of 2008
