The television drama Magnum P.I. aired on CBS from 1980 through 1988. Nielsen Ratings put the show in the top twenty each year that it was broadcast. Universal Pictures has released all eight seasons on DVD. It is being made into a movie directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber and will star Matthew McConaughey as Thomas Magnum. The film is expected to be released in 2010.
