Madeline Neumann

Eleven year old Madeline Neumann died from complications of untreated diabetes in March of 2008. On April 28, 2008 charges were brought against her parents by authorities.

Investigators say that Madeline's parents chose to pray for healing rather than seek professional medical attention. Madeleine's parents told police that the last time she had seen a doctor when she was three, for vaccinations.

Authorities state that Madeline would have been getting weaker over the past month, showing symptoms such as vomiting, thirst, and lethargy, before her ultimate death on March 23, 2008 of ketoacidosis. She had attended public school in the fall, but was home schooled for the second semester. Her mother maintains she did not know how sick her daughter was.
