- Eggs
- Sugar
- Light brown sugar, softened
- Vanilla extract
- Grated lemon peel
- Salt
- Flour
- Butter, melted and cooled
- Powdered sugar
How to Make Madeleines
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Combine the eggs, sugar and brown sugar using an electric mixer.
- Mix in the vanilla extract, lemon peel and salt.
- Gradually mix in the flour.
- Continue to mix while drizzling in the melted butter.
- Grease and flour the madeleine pan.
- Fill each pan indentation with one tablespoon of the batter.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from pan and place on a cooling rack. Sift or sprinkle cookies with the powdered sugar.
