Plot Summary
After his former boss refuses to speak to fired security guard Sam Baily (John Travolta), he accidentally shoots another security guard. The incident develops into a hostage situation in which Sam is holding a group of children at gunpoint. Opportunistic television reporter Max Brackett (Dustin Hoffman) and his intern Laurie Callahan (Mia Kirshner) are on the scene reporting on an unrelated story. Max turns the situation to his advantage and steps in as a link between Sam and the outside world, offering exclusive coverage on the story, which soon sparks a media circus.Cast
