Lykke Li

Swedish singer-songwriter Lykke Li grew up on a Portugal mountain top where the only thing she had to listen to was Madonna's The Immaculate Collection cassette tape.

In her early teens, Lykke Li began composing her first songs which she would self-produce and release onto her own label, LL Recordings]]. In September of 2007, she released a three track EP titled, Little Bit. The single, Little Bit from the EP became popular through bloggers on the Internet which led to Li appearing on the Swedish MTV television show. She was also nominated for "Best Video" at the Grammis Awards which is the Swedish version of the Grammy Awards.

Li released her debut full length album, Youth Novels in January of 2008 which she described are songs about her childhood. Li made an appearance at the 2008 South by Southwest (SXSW) music conference in Austin, Texas where she was well received with packed audiences.
