Luther Vandross was an eight time Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter and record producer. He sold well over 25 million albums during his career. His first solo album Never Too Much was released in 1981 and peaked at number 19 on the Billboard 200. The single "Never Too Much" reached number one on the R&B charts.
Death
Vandross suffered from diabetes and hypertension. On April 16, 2003, he suffered a stroke which may or may not have been caused by his diabetes. July 1, 2005, Vandross died at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison, New York at the age of 54. The exact cause of death is unknown. He was laid to rest at the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, New Jersey.
