Professional basketball forward Luol Deng plays in the National Basketball Association for the Chicago Bulls. Deng grew up in South Norwood in London, England, and at 14 moved to the United States, where he was a high school top prospect. Highly recruited in high school, Deng played with the Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team for one season.
Deng left Duke after one season, declaring eligible for the 2004 NBA draft. He was the Phoenix Suns' seventh overall pick, but was traded immediately to the Chicago Bulls. Despite suffering a serious wrist injury, Deng still made enough of an impact to get voted into the class of 2004-2005 rookie first team.
Continuing with the Bulls in 2007, he saw action in 63 games as he was limited with his ongoing wrist injury. The following year, Deng was selected for the NBA Sportsmanship Award, as voted on by the players.
Loul Deng (2009 - 2010 Season)
Loul Deng was a member of the Chicago Bulls during the 2009-2010 season where he played the Small Forward position. Deng appeared in 70 games for the Bulls averaging 17.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per contest. Loul Deng would also average 18 points and 5 rebounds during the Bulls’ first round playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers. When healthy, Loul Deng is one of the most versatile players on the team as he can score from the perimeter as well as the paint. When his jump shot is falling, he is one of the most difficult players to guard in the league. If the Bulls can add some more talent to their current core of Loul Deng, Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, they will definitely position themselves as a team who can go far in the playoffs in the coming years.
Deng Taking It To The Rack Against The Cavs
Loul Deng is one of the most versatile players in the league at the Small Forward position. While Deng has a tendency to settle for the mid-range jump shot, he is also capable of attacking the rim as well.
