Career
Lunachicks formed while Theo Kogan, Gina Volpe, and "Squid" Silver were all in high school together in 1987. Guitarist Helen Destroy joined later. The band attracted the attention of Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth, whose connections eventually resulted in a record deal with Blast First in 1989. The band has been on hiatus since 2000.Band Members
