Luke Ridnour

Luke Ridnour is a 6’2”, 188 pound point guard for the Milwaukee Bucks. Ridnour entered the league with the Seattle Supersonics as their first round pick in the 2003 draft after earning hardware as one of the better players in the country at the University of Oregon. In his junior year, Ridnour was named the Pac-10 player of the year as well as the conference tournament MVP.

Ridnour married his wife Katie in the summer of 2005 and the couple had their first child in April of 2009. Their son was named Tredon Lukas. Ridnour’s early basketball career was a family affair, as his father was his basketball coach for all four years of high school. Basketball wasn’t the only sport Ridnour excelled in as he was also a four time letter winner for his high school tennis team.

Ridnour’s sister was also a college basketball player. Heather played shooting guard for Eastern Washington.

Luke Ridnour 2010 Playoffs

In the 2010 playoffs, the Milwaukee Bucks squared off against the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. The Bucks lost the first two games of the series but managed to rally for a three games to two lead, but could not close the series out and lost the final two games, being bounced from the playoffs in the first round.

Luke Ridnour 2009/10 Season

The 2009/10 season was Luke’s second with the Milwaukee Bucks after coming to Milwaukee in a three team trade shortly before the 2008/2009 season began. Ridnour spent the entire 2009/10 season as the team’s backup point guard but did appear in all 82 of the team’s regular season games.

Ridnour had a painful winter as he struggled through two separate injuries but did not allow either to cut down on his playing time to any real degree. On November 31st Ridnour suffered a hamstring injury in a game against the Chicago Bulls but was back on the court for 33 minutes on December 2nd. On December 8th Ridnour left a game against the Boston Celtics with an arm injury he suffered when wrestling with Kevin Garnett for a rebound. Luke Ridnour 2008/09 Season

Ridnour originally thought he was going to be spending the 2008/09 season with the newly named Oklahoma City Thunder. Having spent his entire career with the Seattle Supersonics, Ridnour was prepared to head east with the team when they moved to the Sooner state.

Instead the Thunder dealt Ridnour to the Milwaukee Bucks in a three team trade that saw he and Adrian Griffith head to Milwaukee while Mo Williams was sent from Milwaukee to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Desmond Mason went from Milwaukee to Oklahoma City and Damon Jones and Joe Smith from Cleveland to Oklahoma City.

Ridnour played in 72 games in his first season with Milwaukee including starting 50 games.
