American Idol season 7 contestant Luke Menard was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma after suffering from a cough that would not subside. The diagnosis was confirmed to the media by a representative for the singer's accapella group, Chapter 6, on May 20, 2008.

The representative told CBS news that Menard had had a cough that would not go away and he had trouble breathing. Menard went to his doctor and they thought it might be pneumonia. Survival Rate

American Idol's official website published an update on Menard on November 26, 2008. In the article, it stated that Menard is now cancer-free after undergoing 12 rounds of chemotherapy treatment.
