    Prior to playing in the NFL, McCown played college football for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in the NCAA. He started 43 of 44 games, recording 1,088 completions, 1,827 passing attempts and 12,994 yards, all Louisiana Tech records.   • NFL Career

    McCown made his professional debut with the Cleveland Browns in 2004, playing in five games and completing 48 of 98 passes for 608 yards and four touchdowns. Prior to the 2005 season, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. McCown did not see playing time with the Buccaneers until 2007, when he played in five games, recording 94 of 139 completions for 1,009 yards and five touchdowns.
