Taiwanese-American actress Lucy Liu joined the cast of Dirty Sexy Money for its second season. The ABC drama also stars Peter Krause, Donald Sutherland and Jill Clayburgh.
Herbreakthrough role came in the cult series Ally McBeal. She went on to star in the Charlie's Angels films and Kill Bill: Vol. 1.
Life and Career
- Lucy Liu grew up in Queens, New York, the daughter of Taiwanese immigrants. She did not pursue acting until her senior year in college, when she was cast in the lead role of University of Michigan's Alice in Wonderland.
- After college, Liu began getting minor roles in TV shows, but her big break came when she was offered the role of Ling Woo in the TV show Ally McBeal. Soon after her success on the show, she was asked to play Alex Munday in Charlie's Angels alongside actresses Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore. Around that time she also won the part of O-Ren Ishii in Kill Bill: Vol. 1. Both films released in 2003 and were huge successes.
